Nehemiah needed Ezra to stay devoted and faithful as he served the Lord as a scribe and as a priest. Ezra needed Nehemiah to commit to rebuilding Jerusalem's smoldering gates. Ezra's role may appear more "sacred" and Nehemiah's more "secular." Yet each man fulfilled the plan of God by being obedient to His voice. Let's look at Nehemiah's example now.
