I’m back after a much-needed two-month break! This week we’re talking about burnout, letting go of perfection and the Type A lifestyle, depression and mental health, learning to celebrate ourselves, the privilege of chasing our dreams, and what I want this next chapter of Taking Up Space to look like.
A little heads up: This episode includes a conversation about depression and suicidal ideation from [16:00 - 19:21]. Please take care of yourself and skip that section if you need to. 🤎

After almost three years of podcasting, I'm pressing pause. Not because I'm burned out.Not because I'm giving up.And definitely not because this is goodbye.I'm choosing to give one dream my full attention.Over the last few months, I've realized that every creative idea keeps pulling me back to the same place: writing. Between working full-time, writing two books, creating videos, recording podcasts, and trying to actually enjoy my life, I've learned something important...You can love a lot of things without having the capacity for all of them at the same time.In this season finale, I'm sharing why I'm stepping away from the podcast for the summer, what this next chapter looks like, and why choosing one dream doesn't mean the others are over.Thank you for spending the last few years with me. This podcast helped me find my voice, and because of that, I finally found the courage to call myself an author. This isn't the end. It's simply the end of this season.Have an incredible summer.I'll see you soon.💙 Follow along as I disappear into my author era:📚 Website: www.takingupspacewithjordan.com/authorera📖 Books: All Parts of Me 📱 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/takingupspacewithjordan/🖤 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@UCGzwUEWXHaeU2oW6CnoGztQ
⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode discusses estrangement, emotionally absent parents, family trauma, grief, and difficult parent-child relationships.
What do you do when the person you're grieving is still alive?
In this episode of Taking Up Space, we're talking about a type of grief that doesn't get enough attention: grieving a parent who is no longer part of your life. Whether you've gone no contact, have a complicated relationship with a parent, or are mourning the relationship you wish you had, this conversation is for you.
Together we'll explore the difference between the parent we had and the parent we needed, why acceptance is not the same as approval, and how healing doesn't always mean reconciliation.
If you've ever felt guilty for grieving someone who is still living, I hope this episode reminds you that your loss is real, your feelings are valid, and you're not alone.
Because sometimes the hardest goodbye is to the version of someone we kept hoping would change.
🎙️ Taking Up Space is a podcast for women who are building lives they love through self-trust, boundaries, healing, and personal growth.

A few weeks ago, I stopped feeling like myself.
Nothing was technically wrong. I had published a book, I was making plans for the summer, and there were still moments of joy scattered throughout my days. But underneath it all, fear had quietly moved back in; and I started believing some pretty awful things about myself.
In this episode, I'm sharing what it felt like to slip back into old wounds I thought I'd already healed, the comparison spiral that convinced me I was falling behind, and the moment I finally leaned on my community instead of trying to carry it all alone.
If you've ever felt like a fraud, convinced yourself you're failing, or wondered why old insecurities keep showing up after you've done "the work," this conversation is for you.
Because healing isn't about never struggling again.
It's about choosing to show up anyway.

There’s something I’ve realized lately…
A lot of us are waiting to feel proud of ourselves until we hit the “big” goal.
The promotion.
The relationship.
The money.
The dream life.
And in the process, we’re missing the life we’re actively building right now.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about ambition, joy, productivity culture, and why so many of us struggle to celebrate ourselves while we’re still becoming. I also open up about self-publishing my debut romance novel All Parts of Me and the realization that I had accidentally let ambition steal my joy.
This episode is for anyone who feels like they’re constantly moving the goalpost on themselves.
You’re allowed to celebrate your life now.
You’re allowed to feel proud now.
You don’t have to “earn” joy first.

Are you constantly filtering yourself to be more likable?
In this episode, we’re talking about why so many of us feel like we’re “too much” and how that leads to shrinking ourselves, editing our personalities, and feeling disconnected from our own lives.
If you’ve ever:
this conversation is for you.
We’re diving into how to stop editing yourself, start owning your quirks, and finally feel aligned in your life again.
✨ You don’t need to become someone else to build your dream life
✨ You just need to stop abandoning who you already are

What if you don’t actually hate being a woman… you’ve just been taught to experience it that way?
In this episode, I’m talking about the narrative we’ve been fed about womanhood and why I’m choosing to see it differently.
Yes, being a woman comes with real challenges. But it’s also powerful, intuitive, connected, and honestly… kind of magical.
We’ve been conditioned to bond over how hard it is. But what happens when we start bonding over how powerful we are instead?
In this episode, I’m breaking down:
If you’ve ever felt frustrated, disconnected, or conflicted about your identity as a woman, this one’s for you.
And before you go, my debut romance novel is officially out now. If you’re learning to embrace all parts of yourself, I think you’ll really connect with this story.
✨ Listen now and step into your power.
