The only authorial attribution we could find for this story was to 'one of the authors of the odd volume'. The internet speculative fiction database has lists numerous publications which the story has appeared in. The evening standard second book of strange stories lists its publication date as 1839, and its author as unknown. As far and we can discovered the story is in the public domain, however if anyone has any further information on this, please get in touch.
