In Part 1, we feature Wally Westlake, a native Sacramentan who played 11 MLB seasons, primarily with Pittsburgh and Cleveland. In this 2012 phoner we present a smorgasbord of stories about Jr. American Legion, umpires and one of Wally's favorite men from this time period: his coach and friend, Bill Avila.  

In Part 2, we present another Young Man's Memory. This one from 1969 recalls the time when Christian Brothers varsity footballers became the first team to wear coordinated-colored shoes or cleats, in CB's school's colors, red and blue.
