Tales_S2, P7_AGAINST ALL ODDS: Conversations about How the River Cats Became Sacramento's Hometown Team
In R. A. Cabral's 20212 e-book AGAINST ALL ODDS, he covered the period in Sacramento baseball history from 1960 through 2000. That began with the departure of the Solons for Honolulu and culminated when the River Cats became “the hometown team.”
This podcast features conversations circa 2011 with four individuals who were key to making the River Cats the hometown team in the greater Sacramento region: Bob Hemond and Warren Smith, the two co-founders of River City Baseball—who saw their dream materialize in the Triangle Area of West Sacramento—along with Kevin McClatchy and Branch Rickey the third.
