Common Humanity

Talk About It, Mental Health and Breaking the Stigma

Listen Later

The line between mental illness and spirituality is blurred so well, it's almost as if it's greyscale. I want to show the world the black and white and everything in-between. I want to expose old, harmful and corrupt systems and practices that no longer serve us. I want to shed light on what we keep hidden, thinking no one else could possibly understand. I want to normalize mental illness and bring back the connection to our selves - to spirit.

Kaitlyn and I discuss how being diagnosed with various mental health disorders has impacted her life. Both in her day-to-day experiences with family and friends and in her new found vulnerability on social media. Kaitlyn openly shares her stories of what she goes through, how she handles it, how it makes her feel, to the world. In doing so, she has been able to find community with others who have similar struggles or just connect with your journey.
