Created in collaboration with Talk Art, this special episode of the Gucci Podcast celebrates ‘Shifting Intimacies,’ an exhibition by visual artist Andrew Moncrief sponsored by Gucci to generate conversations about what masculinity and identity mean in 2022, through the prism of our men’s universe.
Influenced at an early age by a rigid and immobile interpretation of masculinity, Andrew’s work explores depictions of the male identity, questioning idealism, queerness, and representation. The Canadian artist, now based in Berlin, questions masculinity and the representation of queer bodies in his surreal and powerful canvases inspired by existing images, reworked as collages where colors and shapes intermingle.
Hosted within Gucci’s Saint-German boutique, the exhibition, comprising a series of paintings featuring five queer Berlin personalities wearing pieces from the Gucci Love Parade collection, ran during Paris Fashion Week in June 2022.
