“Talk is cheap” — the title of Andy’s sermon this week was apt for the passage: Romans 2:17–24. Like the religious elites that Paul was addressing, we may puff ourselves up by saying all the right things that Christians ”should say” and feeling very secure in our faith as a result.

But do we actually live out our words in our actions? Paul reminds us that acting with hypocrisy is blasphemous and dishonouring to God. Instead, we should seek to live lives that make the gospel look beautiful in our real daily actions, not only in words. This is of course enabled by grace, given to us in Jesus Christ who lived the perfect life in all his actions.
