I interviewed Alan Kelly, a very charismatic bartender from Ireland a few years back  At that time, he was working at Rebar, a very popular gay bar located in the Chelsea District in NYC. Alan has since moved back to Ireland, but before doing so, he provided me with some wonderfully interesting perspectives on the LGBTQ community here and in Ireland. This is the first part of a two part interview.
