Talk Practice: Why I’m Awkward, Why Dads Aren’t Lame, and Why Practice Matters

Listen Later

I talk through why I dropped the “Sunday” from the show why practice matters more than polish, and why sometimes the only way to figure out what you think is to say it out loud.

We get into Stranger Things, why staggered releases create better conversation, and why people don’t actually hate bad endings — they hate endings that don’t match their expectations.

From there, things get personal. I talk about realizing I’m likely somewhere on the autism spectrum, why I’m comfortable behind a microphone but painfully awkward in real life, and how burnout, clumsiness, and rage can spiral when your brain is overloaded.

And finally, I rant (a little) about the term “dad rock,” why mocking dads for being “lame” is actually mocking emotional growth, and how healthy masculinity doesn’t look like what we were sold growing up.

This isn’t a TED Talk. It’s practice.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
