About Dr. John Jurica:
Dr. John Jurica, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAPL is a board certified Family Physician and Certified Physician Executive. He is a medical director, blogger, and podcaster who has pursued non-clinical careers throughout his career. Dr. Jurica is also the founder of the Non-Clinical Career Academy and the online community, NewScript, which offer mentorship programs, online courses, and livestream events for healthcare professionals transitioning to non-clinical careers. He has served on the boards of hospitals, county health departments, and hospices and has had a significant impact on the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of patients. Dr. Jurica completed a master’s degree in public health and business courses through the American Association for Physician Leadership.

About Amanda Hill:
Amanda Hill is a healthcare attorney in Austin, Texas. She worked for the U.S. Government defending large hospitals before becoming General Counsel for several large groups. She has worked with physicians and health care management her entire career, providing guidance, training, and counsel. Amanda authored the Fraud and Abuse Manual as well as Build your Compliance Plan for the Texas Medical Association.
In 2015, Amanda founded her own law firm for healthcare organizations and specializes in physician practices in Texas. www.hillhealthlaw.com Since Amanda started her law firm, she discovered was bombarded with the same questions from physicians and providers, and started thinking of a better way to educate doctors about the basics of contract negotiation, business formation, compliance and other issues that affect their practice. Join Dr. Andrew Tisser and guest Dr. Ronald Hirsch as they discuss what a Physician advisor is, its duties and responsibilities, and why it is an essential role in the hospital. Dr. Hirsch shares that a physician advisor determines the correct admission status for the patient so that the hospital gets paid for the care, the physicians get paid for the care, and the patients are in the correct status. From that, it grew into involving a whole bunch of other things. One of the most significant duties now with physician advisors is to work with the Clinical Documentation Integrity Team, working with medical terms and teaching doctors how to use them properly. In addition, they stand as case managers, especially in complex cases like disagreements between family members and physicians, where they act as a neutral body to read the chart and help the family understand what's happening. Amy G. Fogelman, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with 17 years of experience seeing patients at ambulatory practices in the Boston area. She graduated with a BA in Biology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and MD from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her Internship and Residency at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a Chief Residency in Primary Care at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Roxbury. She has been awarded prizes in clinical excellence and leadership at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Amy’s career has been notable for her advocacy efforts. She was the Executive Director of Communications for the COVID-19 Action Coalition of Massachusetts. She now serves on the Board of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter. Amy also volunteers as a Member for the Juvenile Substance Abuse and Mental Health Task Force at the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office. Amy also serves in several leadership positions at the Massachusetts Medical Society.
Amy is an educator who can communicate about complex medical-legal issues in easy to understand terms. She loves teaching patients, trainees, attorneys, juries and other Medical Experts. She sees patients at Fenway Health in Boston.
