Talkin' Ders

The Seattle Sounders are unbeaten in 8 matches! A 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City proved more difficult than expected but the boys in Rave Green prevailed and shot the team up the standings. Firmly in the playoff spots the Sounders now control their destiny going forward. Confidence continues to grow and hope is no longer fleeting.

Looking ahead to Saturday, The Sounders visit New England for a tough test to determine how real this run is. We finish with another nonsense section where we talk costco, politics, and strange sounders facts.

Steve's back, and the Sounders finally won. Twice.

Steve returns from hiatus just in time to see the winless streak die. It ran 13 games, back to May. Musovski and Rusnák beat Real Salt Lake 2-0 without Dejan Joveljić, who's away on Serbia duty. Then Morris, Dotson, and Arriola took down Minnesota 3-1. We get into why it clicked: Alex Roldan back at right back, a healthy Cristian in the middle, Jordan Morris looking like Jordan Morris again, and enough healthy center backs for a real back three. Plus Caden Clark's first start.

Then it's a look ahead to Thursday's visit from Sporting KC and their new Brazilian forward Andre Luiz, and a road trip to New England and Dallas. Are the Sounders back, or is this just an oasis in the drought? Seattle's in 9th with games in hand, and we talk playoff odds.

Shane & Smashley are back on the mics for your Seattle Sounders

This week we are talking about more injuries, more offensive hiccups, more defensive frustrations, more nonsense and potentially more hope!

We also discuss the unfortunate passing of Tom Biro. An incredible human being that helped shape the culture & direction of not only the fans but the club itself.  Our condolences to his family.

This week we are talking about our defense being back, our offense being good but not good enough, our sheets are cool, Shane’s not a fortune teller and Sounders may just sign more players!

Now that Steve’s back after FluRona and Mexico, it seems quite a lot has happened. Losing streak improved to a winless streak, and some roster moves that seem to have Craig Waibel feeling like the chessmaster that Joveljić actually is. What does the Chicago draw mean besides more exciting football? What will it take to stay above the line and make a deep playoff run? Are all the parts there, or are our prospects as empty as the TP shelves during the pandemic? Is there a last minute delivery in the works, or are we going to be using newsprint to wipe our tears? All this and more on Talkin’ Ders!

The Sounders struggles continue on the field as we talk about the silly game we love and how it can get better from here as well as potential signings?More importantly our friends & family can use your support as devastating wildfires are spreading across Eastern Washington. Spokane welcomed the Sounders & Reign this year and gave them a home when Lumen Field was under renovation. Our hearts go out to those affected. Please consider donating to the relief efforts.

We don’t need to tell you things are not great in the House that Sigi Built. On the 10th anniversary of his exit from the club, we weigh the pros and cons of swinging the axe and where the blame might actually lie for our recent form. Are Schmetzer and the FO even on the same page anymore? What is this Leagues Cup “break” going to do to the already struggling and damaged spine of the team? Does Smashley still support continental air travel?
