Workaholics and Workaholism
Are you a Workaholic? Spoiler alert. That's not a good thing.
Did you know a dude named Fred Taylor was the father of that term? Before the term workaholic, it was called Taylorism.
His concepts on Scientific Managment inspired two phenomena that are still revered today... Henry Ford's Assembly line and impersonal enslavement via organized labor. "Speedy" Taylor would stand over workers with a stopwatch, driving them too hard too fast, rapidly deteriorating their health and moral.
In this episode, I’m #TalkinMess about #Workaholism, its origin, emotional and health effects, and how it looks similar to #highperformance {but really it is not} and how people equate it to high productivity.
What leads to more productivity is having more energy when you are actually working and regularly allowing opportunities to refuel your energy and moving rheumatically between spending energy and recovery energy is more productive, healthy, and produces a higher quality regarding the work you do
