Longtime Hendrick Motorsport sponsor Lowe's announced they are ending their relationship with the organization and NASCAR at the end of the 2018 season. The company has been a full-time partner on the No. 48 car of Jimmie Johnson since 2002. Together the partnership has won 83 races and 7 championships.
On tonight's show we'll dicuss the reasons why we think the company has decided to end its relationship and what is the will be the reprecussions from this. We'll give you our opinions on whether or not there's more to it than it appears.
Also, Chase Elliott's No. 9 team was penalized following Sunday's race at Phoenix. Elliott and his team were found to be violation of the rear-end housing. Elliott lost 25 driver and owner points, his crew chief Alan Gustafson was fined $50k and his car chief was suspended for two races. The violation was found at NASCAR's R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina earlier this week.
