On this week's Talking of Books, Annabelle Corton (host) and Natalie Madison (co-host) celebrate Stephen King's birthday, and begin the show with their young reviewer, Inigo LeBlanc, who offers his perspective on 'The Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy' by Rick Riordan. Spoken word artist Afra Atiq then joins us to reveal the three books she would take with her if she ever became stranded on a deserted island. We then delve into a fascinating segment of Arab World with Afra who chats about her journey as an Emirati spoken word artist and gives a powerful live performance. Flora Rees, former editor and current Head of Education and Publishing at the Emirates Literature Foundation, makes a guest appearance during The Big Question to address how you should move forward with editing your manuscript once it's been written. Daniel LeBlanc then chimes in for a review of 'Lagoon' a novel by Nnedi Okorafor where a famous rapper, a biologist, and a rogue soldier are left to handle humanity's first contact with an alien ambassador and save the world from destruction. Our show ends with a musical interlude of Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.
