Welcome to Episode 35 of Talking Prisoner. Hosts Ken Mulholland and Matt Batten sat down with the talented Kate Hood who played Inmate Kath Maxwell. Kate has appeared in many Tv shows and Movies including Constance, Mesmerized, Takeover, The Flood: Who will save our Children ?, Blue Heelers and Neighbours. Kate Spoke with us about those shows she has appeared in and also about her writing, directing and voice over work. Kate spoke in length about her production company she formed called Raspberry Ripple Productions that creates work to dissolve the divide between the mainstream and disability arts sectors which Kate is very passionate about. We spoke to Kate about her life growing up and where the love of acting came from and then we delved into Prisoner and how she got the part of Kath Maxwell. Kate spoke in great length about Prisoner and her audition and what it was like to shoot her scenes with the late great Peter Adams who played Acting Governor Bob Moran. We discussed her major storyline of euthanasia and what she did to prepare for the role and storyline. Kate also spoken in great detail about working with Taya Stratton who played Spider Simpson, and what it was like to work with Rosanne Hull-Brown who played Merle Jones. Kate told us how she felt when she found out Prisoner was ending and how she felt being Wentworth’s last Top Dog. We also discussed why Kate was not in the final ever scene of Prisoner.
