Something Pretty Cool for The Vision Australia Radio Network

Amazon now one of our new sponsors.

Speaking of Amazon - My Quick Review of the Echo Buds 2ND Generation

Small round bugs that sit in your ears with an ear tip that slightly goes in to your ear canal. You then have rubber ear tips or wings to allow you to have a comfortable fit when wearing the buds. For me, I use the wing tips as for me they hold the buds better in my ear.

USBC charging case, with approximately 6 hours of play time.

Reasonable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Perhaps not quite as good as the AirPods Pro..

Setup via the Amazon Alexa app.

Allows you to use wake word “Alexa” outside of running the Amazon Alexa app.

When using the buds with Alexa, just need to be careful when opening apps on the smart phone, as Alexa does view them firstly as skills, and not apps on your phone.

Reasonable sound quality when playing music.

Some room sound when on a phone call, but still quite clear (room sound also heard when recording through the buds).

Standard tap to start/stop music, twice for next track, and thrice for previous track. Tap and hold to switch ANC setting.

Appreciate the way I still have access to Hey Siri on my iPhone as well as Alexa skills, including playing my Audible and Kindle books, plus controlling my smart home.

$199 in Australia.

Handy Feature that I Came Across in Preview on the Mac

I don’t know how long it’s been there, but under More Controls, preview has Play Back Speed up to 2 times. Very nifty.

Makes it easy for me to skim through audio content.

Use Universal Clipboard to copy from iPhone to Mac

Just being able to copy from my iPhone to my Mac is one of those things now I just take for granted.

AirDrop: How to Share Files between Mac and iOS

Speaking of taking things for granted: sharing files between my iPhone and Mac simply via Airdrop is fantastic for ones productivity.

Tesla Tech, Still a Way to go with Self Driving Beta Mode from Podfeed.

Thought this was quite a telling article on how self driving mode for cars has a ways to go when Allison tried it out on her own Tesla.
