A

Product Overview of my De’Longhi PrimaDonna Elite Touch Coffee Machine

This

is a fairly pricey automated coffee machine which grinds your coffee beans and
makes a range of coffees costing several thousand dollars, but the reason why I
purchased it for my new kitchen was that it is app controlled from my
iPhone.  Here are a few points on my experience with the machine so far.

Challenges

Requires

sighted assistance to setup as part of the setup process is to use the touch
screen for set language, check the milk container, water tank etc.

Setting

up the app on my iPhone required sighted assistance as some of the pop up
Windows for pairing the machine were not accessible.

I

had to turn off Energy Saving mode and have the.machine on all of the time as
the wake machine from stand by is not accessible with VoiceOver which mostly
works.  However, one way around this on all the time can be managed by
having the machine turn itself on at different times for the day and you can
set how long it will stay on for which is what I have done: e.g. on at 6AM, off
at 8AM, on at 5Pm, and off at 7PM.

The

cup warning message (i.e. have you put your cup under the spout) I had to turn
off as this popup window wasn’t accessible with voiceOver.

Some

of the other app functions are not accessible such as the statistics for the
machine.

What

worked

Can

run the app most of the time (i.e. not get locked out by inaccessible windows),
select my particular type of coffee, and have the machine make it for me.

The

warning messages concerning empty water tank, clean the milk dispenser are
accessible: haven’t come across other warning messages yet.

I

can put beans in the hopper, water in the tank, and milk in the dispenser
without any issues.

Switching

the Milk dispenser to different froth levels via the rotor dial and flushing
the dispenser  is all doable.

Emptying

the drip tray with the accompanying bean grounds container is very
straightforward.

Keeping

the machine clean is fairly easy.
