Tom Lonergan is one of the most courageous players of the AFL. In 2006, in just his seventh senior game Tom had only eyes for the ball when he drifted back into oncoming traffic colliding with Melbourne player Brad Miller.
The incident was a turning point in more ways than one for Lonergan, when days later he was in an induced coma after undergoing surgery to remove one of his kidneys.
After having his career and life both hanging by a thread the long road to recovery has lead Lonergan to a Premiership in 2011 with Geelong and becoming a member of the 200 Games Club.
