Talkshow About Junkfood

Listen Later

Hey,
after a new study showed that Germans are fatter than other Europeans, Germany's politicians are campaigning for better nutrition and restrictions on the advertising of sugar-laden foods. In England junk foods ads have even been banned from children’s television. Do we also need new advertisement laws in Germany to prevent our children from becoming obese? What are the pros and cons of junk food? Do junk food ads on TV influence you in any way? What challenges do parents face when trying to get their children to eat healthy food instead of junk food? These questions are discussed by students of the 11g3. They present a talk show (a role play). The following guest are invited to the show: Mr. Donald Mc Sunday: (Advertising Director of Mc Donald’s Germany), Mrs. Ivana Lee (Quality Scout Burger King), Mr. John White (RTL Programme Director), Dr. Frank Müller (German Ministry of Health, Director of the department of prevention and public health), Mrs. Helen Schneider (caring mother of two obese children), Mr. Ohrmann (Nutrition and Fitness Coach), Prof. Wilfried Spitzer (scientist, studying media effects on children and youth), Frank (15 years old, loves junk food and hates sports). Enjoy the discussion and do not hesitate to leave your own written or spoken comments? What is you personal opinion as far as junk food ads in the media are concerned.
