The Riverside Art Museum presents Tamara Cedre’s exhibit, TO RISE ABOVE RUINS now until September 28th, 2025.

KUCR Radio Aztlan's Aztec Parrot talk to Cedre about the exhibit. Tamara Cedré is an awards winning, lens-based artist and educator focusing on underrepresented communities. Using documentary forms and archives, she explores land, labor, migration, and identity. As a first-generation stateside Puerto Rican, she brings a personal perspective to colonial histories, particularly in Puerto Rico and Southern California. Cedré teaches at Pitzer College and UCLA. 

Catherine Gudis, who directs the University of California, Riverside's Public History Program, is faculty in the Department of Society, Environment, and Health Equity. and Hilda Lloréns is a Professor of Gender & Women Studies, Anthropology, and Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island.
