Below is Tammy 's Introduction:

My name is Tammy Huff, and I am running for mayor.  I have been a resident of Van for about 36 years minus six months when we sold our home.  I am a Van High School, TJC, and UTTyler graduate.  I am in my 14th year of teaching for Van ISD.  I am presently teaching at Van Junior High as a 7th grade language arts teacher, dyslexia instruction teacher, and tennis coach.  My husband, David Huff, and I have been married for 24 years, and we have three children, Abby, Noah, and Levi.  Over the years, we have been involved with the baseball/softball association.  I spent countless hours when our town was hit by the tornado, clearing property of debris, tearing down a house, moving people, finding storage for people, and giving a shoulder of support to families in need.  I truly love this town.  We have an amazing school district and amazing people.  It is time that our town be seen for the wonderful place it is.  I want to lead Van to be seen in a positive way.  We are growing as a community, and we need leadership that can continue to make that happen in a way that is best for our town and our citizens.  I am that leader, and I would appreciate your vote for mayor.
