Listen Later

Surfers and beach lovers, get ready for a sizzling day along the Florida Gulf Coast! The waves are looking mellow with surf heights hugging the one-foot range across West Central and Southwest Florida. Think glassy, calm conditions perfect for paddling or catching some rays.

Water temperatures are gloriously warm in the mid-80s, practically bathwater that'll make you want to dive right in. The UV index is cranking up to extreme, so grab that high-SPF sunscreen and a stylish hat - you'll definitely want protection out there.

Today's forecast is serving up mostly sunny skies with just a whisper of potential afternoon thunderstorms. Winds will be light and playful, starting southeast and dancing over to southwest around 5 miles per hour. Temperatures are climbing into the upper 80s and pushing 90 in some spots.

Tide-watchers, mark your calendars! Cedar Key will see a low tide at 8:23 AM and a high tide at 1:56 PM. Over in Saint Petersburg, expect a high tide at 1:40 PM. Fort Myers Beach and Venice Inlet have their own tide party happening around midday.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, expect similar conditions with a bit more thunder in the mix. Thunderstorm potential is moderate, so keep an eye on those developing clouds. Winds will remain gentle, shifting between southeast and southwest.

Rip current risk remains low, but beach veterans know to stay alert near jetties, piers, and reefs. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy another spectacular day in paradise!
