It's a system designed to understand non-cooperative competitive games, and there is no deadlier a non-cooperative competitive game than that of Nuclear War.

Nash himself was terrified of the bomb and that much we have in common. In some respects the cuban missile crisis may have been more severe (especially if Trump is colluding with the Ruskies) but nonetheless two mad men engaged in game of chicken can only ever end in tears.
