With a royal commission into banking underway to assess misconduct in the finance sector in Australia and nerves running high as clearance rates continue to drop, many Aussies are starting to wonder whether we have fallen off the cliff. Whilst our Politicians continue to reassure us that this is a "market correction" and that we are in for "soft landing," prominent Australian economists disagree. Looking to Ireland as a model for what may happen here, the future outlook is starting to look quite bleak. Even the national news is starting to question the wisdom of over investing in property. Yet, just like the GFC, credit has started to contract and this is leading to a down turn in the real economy.
