Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Series - 2
Leah Adams is an avid runner, loves to travel and is a melanoma survivor! Ever since she was touched by cancer, she turned her life around for the better. Her experience led her to become a skin cancer and mental health advocate. She is also is the daughter of a Stage IV metastatic melanoma patient.
Her love for tanning started at a young age. Growing up in Ohio, she felt the pressure to maintain a tan all year round, leading her to use tanning beds frequently. However, she never thought about the risk of skin cancer. That all changed when she received devastating news at just 26 years old…
Her story is one of hope and strength.
Today she will share with you her journey from diagnosis to advocate and from patient to caregiver.
Leah hopes to continue to educate others and share her story to prevent others from going through what she did. She encourages everyone to prioritize sun safety and protect their skin from harmful UV rays.
Supporting those who have been affected by skin cancer, whether they are the patient or the caregiver, is vitally important. Let’s bring more education and awareness to preventing and treating skin cancer to make our world a safer and healthier place.
