In this class, we discussed how a mitzvah performed without intention can remain “stuck” in this world. This led to a deeper conversation about the external and internal dimensions of reality, as well as the two ways G-d conceals His light:
1. By contraction (quantity) and
2. By veils/curtains (quality). A mitzvah without intention remains bound within the illusion of this world, while intention allows it to rise beyond it.
