My guest in this tape is Aly Mahmoud, an Egyptian entrepreneur regionally acknowledged for his innovation. I met Aly when he had just crossed a year in his journey. He was on a mission to introduce the ever-blazing Egyptian football fan base to fantasy sports through his startup Eksab – which literally means win in Arabic. Eksab runs on a tokenized mechanism allowing users to earn, buy, and win exclusive prizes and experiences, climb leaderboards, and compete against other fans.
Today, Eksab is still the only licensed operator of daily fantasy sports and predictions in Egypt. They even inked an exclusive sponsorship deal with the Egyptian Premier League.
Before we go back in history, I’d like to note that some of this interview is in Arabic.
