The history of sticky tape begins in the 1930s with the invention of cellophane tape by Richard Gurley Drew. Drew was a scientist who worked for the 3M Corporation, and his invention was the first tape that could be easily torn by hand and had an adhesive coating on one side. This invention was a significant breakthrough in the field of tape, as it allowed for easy and convenient sealing and sticking.
