Targeted muscle reinnervation is an innovative technique that taps into the peripheral nervous system for the information needed to control a myoelectric prosthesis. TMR also improves phantom limp and neuroma pain for amputees. In this episode we discuss various aspects of TMR surgery with Dr. Dumanian, including surgical indications, preoperative planning, surgical technique, and post operative management of patients undergoing TMR surgery, in upper extremity.
