On June 3, the Trump administration announced that tariffs on imported steel, aluminum and their derivatives would be raised from 25 percent to 50 percent. Recent public opinion polls have shown that the chaotic and volatile tariff policy of the United States is like a boomerang, causing substantial harm to the U.S. economy. Ahmed Gray, 24, works in a building materials store in New York and has personally experienced the negative impact brought by the tariff policy. Due to the significant increase in the prices of building materials caused by tariffs and the decrease in the number of customers, Gray's revenue has dropped significantly. He hopes that the U.S. government will better understand the impact and challenges that the current policies have on ordinary workers and their families.
