Jonah 1:1-17

The grace of God has no boundaries.  When God told Jonah to go preach a message of repentance to the evil, hated Assyrians, Jonah boarded the fastest ship he could find to sail in the opposite direction.  If this prophet of God had his way, the Assyrians would be wiped out by the wrath of God, not offered a chance to repent.  Jonah's story forces us all to see that God might just want us to reach out, with the good news of God's love and mercy, to the people we despise most.
