Tasty Licks Ep 10 with Hurricane Sugar

Listen Later

Tonight we are talking with Hurricane Sugar and their new single release "The Grind"  About the Band Hurricane Sugar is an alternative rock band filled with high-energy/guitar-driven music that is filtered through a vintage lens. They have taken inspirations from 60’s psychedelic artists, 70’s arena rock bands, 90’s grunge, and 2000’s desert rock to form their kaleidoscope of sound. This is their attempt to push the envelope in every direction. They create music for those seeking a familiar, yet contemporary, sound that seeks independence from the norm and craves a change in the wake of 2020. Originally rooted in Atlanta, they made the proverbial journey to Los Angeles where they planted new seeds. Collectively they’ve pulled together some exciting new material starting with their debut single, “Wretched Gourmet”. More material is on the way in the coming months. Please enjoy, listen loudly, and stay tuned…  HURRICANE SUGAR UNVEILS “THE GRIND”   BRACING NEW SINGLE OFF SELF-TITLED DEBUT EP LOTS TO COME IN 2021 FOR THIS ACCLAIMED LOS ANGELES ALT-ROCK ARTIST Los Angeles-based band Hurricane Sugar releases their new single “The Grind,” available today and all digital music retailers and streaming services. “The Grind” heralds Hurricane Sugar’s eagerly-awaited, eponymous new EP which is set to come out later this year. The EP will consist of four singles, which will be released monthly starting with the release of “The Grind”. When interviewed earlier this month, Singer Alex Chamis revealed to Skope Magazine that “The Grind” is rooted in Greek mythology. Chamis explains, “In the Greek myth of Sisyphus, the titular character pushes a boulder up a hill, only to have it roll back to the bottom again and again. He rails against his eternal task at first but ultimately becomes complacent to it. The lyrics to the song are about how, in my view, everyone has a boulder to push, and we should figure out a way to break free from our daily grinds and do what we really want to do; otherwise, we end up back at the bottom of the hill again.”  Follow Hurricane Sugar:  Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/5rm4LJbnWRDZ1OdzYblRUX Facebook https://www.facebook.com/hurricanesugar Twitter https://twitter.com/hurricanesugar Instagram https://twitter.com/hurricanesugar YouTube https://www.youtube.com/hurricanesugar
