As the oldest of 8, Tavin Clarke is the only Hispanic member of his family. Growing up, he always wanted to be white like the rest of his family. When people would ask him what his race was, he would tell them he was white and that he was just super tan. Hence, his name on his high school basketball team was "Super Tan" and that's how he was known to all of his teammates.
