"Plans. Destiny. Fate. She hated anything that felt like it had been decided for her. Anything that made her feel like she had no control. She wasn't especially a fan of 'soulmates', destined lovers, written in the stars, that sort of astrological nonsense that kids buy into, which is why she never liked it when I called us 'soulmates'.
