To celebrate Black History Month, Minor Buchanan will come on the podcast and speak about Holt Collier (c. 1848 - 1936). Minor wrote a book about this Mississippian after 11 years of research. Holt Collier was a former slave who eventually became a Confederate cavalryman, cowboy, and world-famous bear hunter. Later in his life, he was a bear hunting guide for a famous U.S. President that resulted in this particular president retaining the nickname "Teddy".
