Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orleans, fought against discrimination from her own French king and many others in order to save France from English rule during the 100 Years War. She may have died at a young age, but her legend lives in on the Big Easy where a life sized statue of her on horseback sits in the French Quarter because without Joan there might possibly be no New Orleans. What a terrible world that would be!!
