A short but informative lecture on the History of Nationalism while using 1930’s Germany as a point of reference for the lecture. The lecture takes excerpts from Alfred Rosenberg’s “Myth of The 20th Century” a recommended reading for anyone looking to understand pre-war German philosophy and politics as well as the state of the society currently. This is an excellent book. Sure it has some rather brash and offensive parts by today’s standards, but there are aspects of this book that certainly speak to the issues of today in America. Rosenberg was hanged at Nuremberg on charges of “waging wars of aggression” even though he had never served in the military, and it is likely that he was hanged purely because of this book.
This week’s episode will be the final part of the American Nationalism series, where I lay out the blueprint of American Nationalism.
