Daily Commercial News staff writer Don Wall recently covered a conference on construction risks where it was suggested that the newest COVID-related challenge buffeting Canada’s construction sector is not keeping workers safe or creating vaccine policies but rather it’s properly pricing risks in a world of inflated costs and unpredictable supply chains. DCN staff writer Angela Gismondi is working on several stories International Women’s Day and Women in Construction Week on March 6 to 12, including a story about how Construction Women are using TikTok to show their competencies within this industry, prejudice and discrimination they face every day, and to inspire each other to speak up.

We also have an interview with Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) president Donna Grant about the 2020/2021 VRCA Awards of Excellence gala on March 3 which celebrates two years’ of projects in British Columbia after the 2021 awards gala was cancelled due to COVID-19.
