Hey Conscious Runners, I’ve got another fantastic interview for you. It is with author, runner and mother Sarah Bowen Shea of Another Mother Runner and Train Like a Mother. I’m so excited to be delivering this interview to you. Sarah is an avid runner and former competitive rower. At 5,11, 165 pounds, Sarah doesn’t consider herself a natural athlete.
But this didn’t stop her from rowing, participating in century long rides, teaching herself how to swim or running 13 marathons, including Boston twice. Sarah and her good friend Dimity McDowell co-wrote Run Like a Mother, a book born out of an assignment for Runner’s World when they both trained and ran the 2007 Nike Women’s Marathon. Sarah and Dimity then followed it up with the wonderful Train Like a Mother.
To foster and support the community of mother runners that coalesced around the two books, Sarah and Dimity founded Another Mother Runner for women runners that includes a website, podcast, and Facebook page. Sarah and Dimity are dedicated to helping women remember they are valuable and when they don’t work, the rest of their family work.
I absolutely enjoyed my chat with Sarah and know you will too.
