Say you have a friend and that friend always breaks their promises to you. Will you remain friends with that person for very long? Hopefully not! Now, imagine that you are your own friend. If you make promises to yourself and you don't follow through and/or break those promises, will you be friends with yourself? Nope! So many of us live with this internal battle in our own minds and hearts. Keep your promises to yourself and you will develop strong self-esteem. This is SO important.

  • Practice positive self-talk. Reinforce it with compliments from your words.
  • Give hearty praise. Lots of praise.
  • Encourage talents and skills, let your kids shine in their passions.
  • Teach your kids to respect themselves and treat their bodies and minds as sacred.
