Welcome to another edition of Teachavision! This episode is a very special one, because we're doing a first EVER, round table, for the podcast! I have gathered two childhood friends, in order to discuss the evolution of assistive technology for the blind; that is, adapted technology whether it was through speech or braille, so the blind and visually impaired can use. We will share our experiences with said technology and reflect on how it has gotten better over the years. On this episode, we will discuss old note takers. Note takers are specially made computers for the blind and visually impaired that had special software, with a line of braille and synthetic speech. PLEASE NOTE: some of these note takers are no longer being made, but we try our best to describe what they were. On the show notes, we leave links to old YouTube videos of some of these note takers being used, and we also show you some accessories we used as well! We hope you enjoy part 1, of this first ever roundtable discussion!
