వాల్మీకి రచించిన రామాయణంలో సుందరకాండ ఐదవ కాండము. ఈ కాండములో హనుమ లంకాప్రయాణం చేసి సీత జాడ కనుగొని కిష్కిందకు తిరిగి వస్తాడు. హనుమంతునికి సుందరుడు అని ఇంకొక పేరు కలదు, కావున వాల్మీకి మహర్షి ఈ కాండమునకు సుందరకాండ అని పేరు పెట్టారు. నిరాశా, నిస్పృహలకు లోనైన మనిషిని పునరుజ్జీవితుణ్ణి చేస్తుంది సుందర కాండము
