We suffer about situations in our lives we’d rather change. When we think life sucks, we’re believing thoughts, and making judgements about the circumstance we’re dealing with.
Byron Katie challenges us to ask the following questions about our thoughts:
Is it true?
Can I absolutely know it’s true?
How do I react - what happens- when I believe that thought?
Who would I be without the thought?
Three things we can do to handle a difficult situation:
Acknowledge our feelings
Practice self-compassion
Give ourselves time
