Policy makers have suggested that instead of students sitting multiple papers, grades should instead be decided by one written exam and one project per subject.
This includes the introduction of project work or practical exams worth 40 per cent of the overall grade for each subject.
Teachers’ unions are set to vote on a number of proposals aiming to ease the transition, after they raised concerns over the speed at which the updates are being brought in.
