Teaching between cultures is about more than language. It’s about helping students find the confidence to express themselves while learning to understand different ways of thinking.

I also share a memorable classroom story about a young student who had returned to Japan after living in the United States, and how a simple children's book, Dirt on My Shirt by Jeff Foxworthy, helped him rediscover his confidence in learning English.
