When your kid screams, whine, cries, or tantrums to ask for things instead to politely asking, you as the parent could be causing this response. Differential reinforcement is a great behavior strategy to not only decrease the problem behavior but to also increase the appropriate response. Listen closely to all teh variables that goes into place as to why your kid continues to scream, holler, cry to ask for things instead of polietly asking.
