TEAM INSOMNIAC'S TRIPTYCH

It's October. The boys vape some serum and dive into the leather clad, maximalist, techno infused world of BLADE.

Movies Discussed:

Blade (1998)

Blade II (2002)

Blade Trinity (2004)

The boys fill their bellies with diet cola, get super high and play 3 Call of Duty games.

CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE (2007)

CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 2 (2009)

CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 3 (2011)

For reasons unknown, the boys choose to forego discussing movies in favor of their true love: MUSIC.

9 albums about seven dudes, a necromancer, a sex robot, a jellyfish, a time traveler, a motorcycle and the Devil himself.

Sam's Top 3:CARESS OF STEEL: Rush, 1975

TIME: Electric Light Orchestra, 1981

PLASTIC BEACH: Gorrilaz, 2010

Movies Discussed:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2020)

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 (2022)

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 (2024)

Look at us, listeners. It’s all for you. To celebrate Briggs’ birthday, as well as the 50th anniversary of the first Omen, but not The First Omen, the boys watched the first 3 movies about good ol Damien Thorn!MOVIES DISCUSSED:

THE OMEN (1976)

DAMIEN: THE OMEN II (1978)

THE FINAL CONFLICT (1981)

It’s time to pay a visit to the MCU’s littlest Florida Man! Antman’s movies are overall pretty funny but also split the difference between being utterly disposable and also bearing the weight of future MCU movies.

Two young men from Minnesota set out with a simple dream, a dream of making mildly surreal genre pastiches with character actors and beautiful cinematography, and I'm talkin' about the Coen Brothers here, and their first 3 movies shot by the iconic Barry Sonnenfeld.

Blood Simple (1984)

Raising Arizona (1987)

Miller's Crossing (1990)

Somehow, Triptych returned. And we're still the ONLY PODCAST TO EVER COVER STAR WARS? That's nuts. Today we cover the prequels that sent shock waves through the fandom. Everyone likes the Star Wars Prequels, right? Featuring BANVILLE!

The Phantom Menace (1999)

Attack of the Clones (2002)

Revenge of the Sith (2005)]

The boys cut loose and dive in to the first three seasons of SMILING FRIENDS, the Bible of Triptych. We also dive into the history of the Newgrounds and Adult Swim animators that made our childhoods so wonderfully weird. EDIT: We made this prior to learning that Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel decided to end the Smiling Friends after season 3. This is a hard day for all of us.

2025 brought more than it's fair share of awful shit, but the movies were pretty good! The boys discuss the highs and lows of the cinematic year, as well as the first quarter of the 21st century, and look towards the future with that same combination of dread and wonder that defines Team Insomniac.
