Overview: This morning I want you to think about removing the old or rather bad the damaged, and restoring into that space the new or rather the good. It-s kind of like your old washing machine there comes a time when you realize that it-s not acceptable anymore. Sure when you got it was so you thought the best there was. Now however you have come to understand things about this washer that are not pleasing to you. Maybe think of it this way how many of us have garbage in our houses- Most likely all will say yes to this question. Well as the garbage collects the remains of something used and discarded pile up and it will start to stink if you don-t get it out right- The garbage is old it is bad and must be cleaned out. At least I hope we all see it this way, for this is much easier to see than what we really want to open our eyes to this morning. We to can come up with garbage in our lives. Yeah maybe you didn-t know this. Well there is a reason you may not recognize this garbage, this old stuff, this bad stuff hanging around in our lives. We just don't recognize it as garbage because no one has ever bothered to point it out to us as garbage. Ever considered that- Could it be that no one has really took time to point out that this is not pleasing to God, therefore it often happens that when we are older and someone points out this garbage in our life we want to defend it. Ever done that. We take offense to the fact that someone would see it that way. So how do we deal with these things- How do we lovingly reach those who do not understand, with the loving convicting word of God, in a way that brings about sorrow and yet results in convection-
