This week, Basil is joined by the Good Ole Boys to talk Southern Pride World Wide and The Civil Rights Act. Maarek and Bog_Beef have the unique distinction among take-sellers to have witnessed up close and personal Basil's Inquisition of the so-called Post-Left back in 2021 (y'all remember a little something called WiSpa?, and were thankfully such Good Ole Boys about it even way back then to, now, in 2024, look back fondly as we take a stroll down memory lane to relive the rise and fall of the so-called Post-Left.
Then we turn our attention to the main focus of our discussion: The Civil Rights Act. Much of the Basilian critique of the TQ™ rests upon the work that The Good Ole Boys have done in demystifying the role of the Civil Rights Act as the legal framework of the censorship we all find ourselves reacting against.
From Disparate Impact, to Bostock, to Twitch Gendergoblin Community Guidelines staffers, It's All One Thing™. And that thing, The Civil Rights Act, is among other things, why you shouldn't call yourself Gay™ Straight™ Cis™ or Trans™. Its also why being normal (read: heterosexual™) is very much against the law.
Of course we discuss why the TQ™ is a much better litmus test than using slurs, reading Mishima, or avoiding seed oils and we end with a little call back to Basil's "Alexander The Gay?" episode from last season, a little Gore Vidal (not Gay™) appreciation, a little Jeffrey Star and RuPaul admiration, and a little Matthew Shephard denigration.
